Wealth taxes have failed in France (raised €260 million against projected €2.

Why it is wrong
Out by more than a factor of fifteen. France's wealth tax, the ISF, brought in something like four to five billion euros a year through the 2010s, right up to the 2017 reform that narrowed it to property. Whatever the €260 million refers to, it is not what the tax raised. And the sentence carries the whole case against a wealth tax funding reparations: as evidence that these taxes collapse in practice.
